WYNNS Red RTV Gasket Maker

Wynn’s RTV Gasket Maker is a single component, room temperature vulcanizing gasket compound with features of high stability and durability. It was specifically formulated to provide reliable formed-in-place gaskets for mechanical assemblies, withstand operating environments up to 343°C and provide resistance against engine oils, petrol and anti-freeze. It is noncorrosive and provides a safe sealing solution around sensitive components such as sensors.

General information:

• This product is not recommended for use in structural fittings and substrate surfaces exceeding 50°C or application below 5°C.

• It is further not advised to apply on surfaces that bleed oil, plasticizers or solvents such as wood immersed in oil and crack fillers..

• Sealant may not bond to plastic materials such as polyethylene, polypropylene and Teflon.

• Not for use in areas of constant exposure to moisture or water immersion.

Where washing systems are used to clean the surfaces before bonding, it is important to check the compatibility of the washing solution with the product. In some cases these solutions can affect the cure and performance of product.

Direction for use:

Surface Preparation:

For optimum performance surfaces should be clean and free of grease. If the material is an inactive metal consider using activator.

Application:

Cut the tip of nozzle at an angle to desired bead size. Start small and cut further down should larger bead size is required. Apply product on cleaned mating surface and assemble parts together. Tighten parts to the recommended torque specs as usual.

Cleanup:

To remove cured product use a combination of solvent and abrasion such as a wire brush. Wipe hands thoroughly before washing.

Precaution:

Use with proper ventilation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If contact with skin occurs, rinse with warm water and do not try to remove forcibly. If product gets into eye, keep eye open and rinse thoroughly. Seek medical attention immediately. Keep away from children.

Handling & Storage Recommendation:

Keep product in a cool and dry storage place at temperatures between 8°C and 21°C. Allow product to reach room temperature before opening to avoid condensation which may reduce shelf life. Furthermore, to prevent contamination of any unused material, do not return any product to its original container.
